October 6, 2016, Butuan City - NNC Caraga attended the Orientation on TSEKAP. TSEKAP is the first 100 days of Philippine Health Agenda that will facilitate access of the poorest and marginalized members of the Philippine society to an essential package of health services.
Malnutrition is one of the identified key risk factors of TSEKAP, in which the nutritional status specially of children and pregnant women are being monitored.
The essential package services include: physical examination, laboratory tests, health education and some treatments such as deworming, micronutrient supplementation and dental care.

Last October 2, 2016, WNI-Peace-Caravan was held in Brgy. Balegian, Jabonga, Agusan del Norte. It aims to reach out Indigenous People, bringing health services closer to them.

Filaria Free Declaration

Congratulations to Agusan del Norte as recently declared Filaria Free Province and Filaria Free Butuan City. Bravo! to the 11 municipalities and Butuan City for the endeavor made to achieve such major accomplishments. Recognition and giving of awards was held @ Almont Inland Resort, Butuan City. It was attended by the different municipal/City Mayors, CHO's and their representatives.

Walk for Life

Butuan City- Last October 1, 2016, the National government agencies in the region, namely: DOH, DSWD, Philhealth, NNC, OSCA with Butuan City Health Office conducted the "Walk for Life" at Almont Inland Resort with the theme: "Pagmamahal at Respeto ng Nakababata, Nagpapaligaya sa Nakatatanda".
With over 2,500 Senior Citizens who attended the event, varied health services were given such as: Nutritional Assessment by NNC; FBS, Blood Glucose and Uric Acid Testing and vaccination by DOH Caraga. Meanwhile, Philhealth services include updating of records of members.
The program started with a zumba exercise since it was raining hard. This was followed by the messages of partner agencies and orientation/updates on the wide-ranging services for the said sector. The activity was directed to reiterate the role of Senior Citizens in nation-building and at the same time an inspiration to the current generation.
