DOH ROXIII Painting Competition

Earlier today, the Department of Health-Regional Office XIII conducted the Regional Painting Competition at the regional office with ten hopeful professional artists to bag the top prize.
With the theme, "Improving Health Literacy among Filipinos towards Health for All", the Health Promotion Staff emphasized health literacy as a key to understanding health so to improve health seeking behaviors.
Participants will receive cash prizes: P1,000 for consolation prize; P5,000 for third place; P10,000 for second place and then finally, P15,000 for first place.The winner will represent Carats region at the Health Promotion Summit on October 25-26, 2017 and compete with other regions nationwide. The grand prize at the national level is P100,000.
Mr. Harrison Espina, a professional artists with numerous awards to cite outnumbered the other with his version of achieving health literacy.
The nine entries were judged by the different section heads of the agency and two invited professional artists in the city.
"We don't stop with information dissemination. We want to see that something is happening to our people. We want information to transform into action. We want behavior change. This is the power of improved health literacy", RD Jose R. Llacuna stressed.
